CDC Says Americans Should Brace for 'Significant Disruptions' Amid Warnings Coronavirus Could Infect 40-70% of Global Population

Nils Gilman

"If 40-70% of humanity ends infected with covid-19 (of which 30-70% are asymptomatic), and the death rate (for the symptomatic) is 1-3%, then the total fatalities worldwide for coronavirus will be between 10m and 100m, and between 400k and 5m in the United States".

Juan Gaspard
"70% of the world population is5.5 billion, with a death rate of 6% due to lack of resources meds and overloaded medical systems = 328 million dead, 1/23 of the population, and thats a Moderate number, if it goes to 15-25% due to starvation disease and pestilence, that number will turn into almost 2 billion, and this is not inconceivable, Think Africa, Think South America, Indonesia, Venezuela, Croatia, The Ukraine, Bulgaria, these small poor nations with Socialized healthcare".

"TRUMPING" The House

It seems clear at this point that the radicals are driving the Democratic Party ever leftward. How will that play out in 2020? Those Democrats who embrace loony proposals like the Green New Deal and Medicare for All should be easy pickings for any decent GOP candidate who will easily be able to portray the Dems as way, way out of the mainstream.

Republicans score easy win in Texas House special election

Texas "Trumping" the House
State and national Democrats are regrouping after a tough loss Tuesday in a special election runoff for a Texas House seat that they had targeted in their drive to flip the chamber in November.

The result — a 16-point win by Republican Gary Gates over Democrat Eliz Markowitz — left Democrats insisting the seat will be more competitive in November and citing unique factors like Gates' self-funding capacity. But they also acknowledged they could have some lessons to learn after a race that drew a flood of out-of-district attention — and the higher stakes that came with it.

Kentucky "TRUMPING" The House

Kentucky Republican wins Rocky Adkins' former House seat
in District 99, preliminary results showed Republican Richard White defeating Democrat Bill Redwine by around 1,000 votes.Redwine got 3,731 total votes, and White got 4,750.
Republican Party of Kentucky Chairman Mac Brown congratulated White in a statement on the "historic victory."
"After Democrat Rocky Adkins held this district since the 1980s, Kentucky Republicans can be justly proud of all Richard White and our grassroots team did to flip this seat to GOP control," Brown said. "Tonight’s groundbreaking results should put Democrats on notice all across the state. Kentucky voters want leaders who support President Trump. Our strong slate of candidates all across the state are well positioned to even further expand our GOP legislative supermajorities in November.

The coronavirus seems unstoppable. What should the world do now?

The global march of COVID-19 is beginning to look unstoppable. In just the past week, a countrywide outbreak surfaced in Iran, spawning additional cases in Iraq, Oman, and Bahrain. Italy put 10 towns in the north on lockdown after the virus rapidly spread there. An Italian physician carried the virus to the Spanish island of Tenerife, a popular holiday spot for northern Europeans, and Austria and Croatia reported their first cases. Meanwhile, South Korea’s outbreak kept growing explosively and Japan reported additional cases in the wake of the botched quarantine of a cruise ship.

The virus may be spreading stealthily in many more places. A modeling group at Imperial College London has estimated that about two-thirds of the cases exported from China have yet to be detected.

The World Health Organization (WHO) still avoided using the word “pandemic” to describe the burgeoning crisis today, instead talking about “epidemics in different parts of the world.” But many scientists say that regardless of what it’s called, the window for containment is now almost certainly shut. “It looks to me like this virus really has escaped from China and is being transmitted quite widely,” says Christopher Dye, an epidemiologist at the University of Oxford. “I’m now feeling much more pessimistic that it can be controlled.” In the United States, “disruption to everyday life might be severe,” Nancy Messonnier, who leads the coronavirus response for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, warned on 25 February. “We are asking the American public to work with us to prepare for the expectation that this is going to be bad.”

Eight elected officials announce party switch, join Mississippi Republican Party

Mississippi is "Trumping" The House!

The Mississippi Republican Party is welcoming some new members and all of them were elected public offices as Democrats or Independents in this most recent election cycle.

The Mississippi Republican Party Chairman says he doesn’t expect this will be the last time they are welcoming new members to the GOP.

“We have had a relentless focus on switching conservative Democrats over to the Republican party," explained MSGOP Chairman Lucien Smith. "They recognize increasingly that there is only one party that represents the conservative values of our state and that is the Republican party.”
